At high zoom, a scope is only as steady as its tripod. This one pairs thick 26 mm aluminum legs with a magnesium-aluminum alloy 3-way head, for a steadier view when you zoom in on a distant bird.
It extends to 67 in (1.7 m), so you can look through a scope standing straight without hunching over the eyepiece. The 3-way head turns a full 360° and has a bubble level, and the quick-release plate has a cork pad for grip and a safety lock. The plate uses a standard 1/4-inch screw.
The leg spread adjusts to 3 angles, foam sleeves make the legs comfortable to grip, and non-slip rubber feet grip the ground. A hook under the tripod lets you hang a bag to lower the center of gravity. At about 1.9 kg (4.2 lb) it supports up to about 5 kg (11 lb), and it folds down to 24.6 in (62.5 cm) into the included waterproof nylon carry bag.
Also included: a binocular adapter, so you can mount binoculars on the same tripod.
